February 25, 2013

Hola hola hola!!!

Wow…another week has come and gone.  How fast the time flies when you’re serving the Lord:) It sounds like a lot of family have been visiting you guys lately. That’s really good because family is the most important thing in God’s plan!  That’s really great that Ethan got his Arrow of Light award and grandma and grandpa could be there to see him get it!!!!
So I received 2 packages from you this week and all your letters that you sent!!! I was really happy about that! Except for the fact that I was so happy I couldn’t stop eating the candy haha and now I’m kinda breakin out in the face…oh well.
Life in Valles is super super hot... and then it’s kinda cold. The weather is pretty crazy right now. But it’s super great and I’m loving it.  I feel pretty dang healthy here so that is a good thing. Yeah, I’ve sent a picture of our house already haha… It’s the one with the chain link fence in front of it.
So only one of our investigators didn’t show to church this week and so we had a pretty packed church. Especially because we worked a lot with the menos activos and so many showed up this Sunday. We had 18 lessons with a member present this week!  My companion gets pretty stressed about everything so it’s good that I’m his companion because I’m so chill and tranquillo-calm.  I try to keep this man calm.  He is a really good companion. He is always cleaning the house and making me eggs and cleaning my shoes and clothes. He loves to always be doing something, it’s pretty crazy haha.  Yeah we are keeping so dang busy my legs are probably so dang strong now because I walk so freakin fast with Elder Rodas. I could probably kick a hole in a wall way easy with these bad boys…haha.
Hace es mi amigos :) I love you all so much!  Mucho mucho amor yo tengo por ustedes goodbye:) ctr

February 18, 2013

Hello,
Wow sounds like you all have been pretty dang busy... especially Blake with the girls:) hahaha Does that kid have a beard or what? Because that might be the key.. jk haha.
Well it was another really fast week for me. I really can’t believe how fast time is going by these days… it’s pretty dang crazy. We stay so busy in the barrio, there is so much work here. We are always teaching and Elder Rodas is really great. He loves to have the best numbers, so we pretty much be tearin it up right now.  Which means doing a lot of work haha:)
Another Elder from my MTC zone moved into Valles today. His name is Elder Jones. So I’m with my whole zone from the mtc. I really find that kinda strange but it’s so cool.
There’s an Elder named Elder Marecos.  He from Paraguay and he is so cool! He is my best friend right now in the mission. Ya, he wants to be my roommate when we get home from the mission. haha so that’s cool.
Dang, there are so many people from home out on missions right now…that is really great. The mission really changes us dudes for the better. I’m really glad I made the choice to serve a mission. I look a lot happier now in all of my photos than before the mission. It’s like I got the spirit of Dios with me or something.. Oh wait yeah that’s right, ha I always have the Holy Ghost with me. I’m so grateful for the Holy Ghost and the strength and blessings and guide I get to receive everyday!!
So this week Elder de Hoyos and Elder Martinez, and President Jordan came and talked to all the missionaries.  It was a really awesome experience and pretty spiritual.  I got to take some really good notes. I’m not going to lie though…. I almost fell asleep.  I couldn’t believe how tired I got hahahahaha. But it was really good and learned a lot from these members of the 70.
So this week none of our investigators with baptism dates attended church so we were pretty upset about that…mainly because we put in a lot of time and work with them. We have 4 baptism dates for the future. One we will be able to baptize pretty soon. Her name is Vanessa she is a really smart girl like 11 years old. She is ready for baptism.
Oh yeah, we worked out today!!! My companion wanted to go to the gym and so we went and worked out. He is pretty ripped. But I am more beautiful:) My companion played semi-professional soccer so he has a lot of energy and walks super fast. So I can walk super fast now…like faster than mom walks so that’s pretty cool:)
This day is the day for cambios (changes) so I have another cambio with my companion. The cambio now is a normal one though, back to 6 weeks. We had a short 3 week this last cambio because a lot of missionaries came to the mission this week because they finally got their visas.
So I love my area so much, Valles is so awesome!!! The people in every area have some much love for me and they all treat me like I’m their grand child… I love it!  They ask me what’s my favorite food and they make it haha.:) I’ve eaten so much pizza since  I have been in Valles so that is really good haha:) My companion is pretty serious but he isn’t as bad as he looks in the photos… haha he isn’t good at photos:)
Well, I love you guys so much!!! My time is about up…I hope everything is going good. Send some pics of baseball. I haven’t got your package yet… But I will I hope.
Love you all so much and miss and pray for you guys always! Goodbye, love you!
  mucho amor:)

Sorry I didn't send pics on Monday I was really rushed…my companion does everything so fast…no time for nada haha.

February 11, 2013

Hello people of the states…
I can’t believe how fast the time is going bye either!! You better not blink because if you do I’ll be home before you know it… and we all know you don’t want that hahah jk;) So wow… yeah this week was pretty dang sweet and way busy!  I went on a two day companion exchange with Elder Krambuele…it was way sweet! It was like two white boys in the most peligroso area in Valles haha. So yeah, I thought that was pretty awesome! I always love the exchanges because it seems like you learn more when you are on exchanges. His house was super hot though because he didn’t have a clima.
We also had a big activity that we planned for the area.  We invited all the members and menos activos investigators.  We did the tree of life. That’s what the activity was called…The tree of life.  We had a rope all the way around the church and we had temptations and all that.  We also had food there. It turned out really really good!
I’m really loving my area!  The food is really good. I’ve eaten a lot of chicken which is pretty much my favorite thing to eat here because it feels the best with my stomach.
So my companion is really high stressed. He’s always super stressed out. Good thing I know how to deal with these kind of people haha jk:) My companion and I have 4 baptism dates set but I guess we will see what happens with that. There’s a lady here that is way rich and she reminds me of g-ma Sherri haha!  So she is like my g-ma in this area.  She spoils me and teaches me Spanish…actually everyone does so that is great. Well I’ve got to go... I love you all so much and I’m always praying for you guys.
   Adios mucho amor!!!
        Love,
Elder Lawrence

February 5, 2013

What’s up:)
Dang, where to start?  I seriously don’t know where to start because so much has happened. Hmm… oh yeah, I forgot my camera at the house so you’re all going to have to wait for photos one more week. I didn’t write yesterday because it was a super super busy p-day and we didn't have time. I got my hair cut and I feel so fresh and so clean clean now haha.
So my district is everyone that was in my district from the MTC.  Isn’t that crazy weird awesome!!!  But for real, I feel like President Jordan has some type of plan because this zone is so young we’re all from the same generation. Everyone in the zone is super cool too! My companion is good. He gets really stressed sometimes and I think that’s where I come in. Dios (God) has a plan for everyone and I feel like my companion is a little less stressed with me. I can’t believe how fast this guy walks! I think it’s more of a run than a walk but its total bien me da igual.  I like to walk now haha.
So I think I’ve finally got a little bit more color in my skin. The sun is a little stronger than in Madero I think. They call Valles the ante enferno haha! It gets really hot here I guess. Right now for me it is so so perfect. I’m loving the weather!!!!  Valles is freaking sweet. It’s way beautiful and there are a lot of landmark places that we can visit. But that’s not the important thing…the people in Valles are!!!  Wow… in seriousness, this place has a special feeling about it. The people here truly love and live the gospel and you can feel the spirit strong. They love to feed the missionaries always too which is really good haha:)
So in this week I have really learned a lot.  My new companion is always teaching me something. But to be honest I feel like he is learning so much from me too…haha. So I guess my Spanish needed improvement with the accent and some pronunciations.  Elder Rodriguez didn’t tell me. But I fixed that this week. It’s great how much we get to learn. I’m really trying to memorize the names in this area, that was one thing I didn’t do so hot in my other haha.  I didn’t even have time to think about my other area this week. I thought I would miss it a lot more…but this area has already grown on me.  I truly can say that I love here.  I do think my house might be haunted though haha jk;) My companion is just scared of everything and wakes up in the night screaming sometimes. But I feel so blessed and I’m thankful to be out in the mission and especially in a place as special as Valles. Oh my Companion says hello and Elder Rodriguez said hello too. I love you all so much and thanks for your prayers.
LOVE,
 ELDER LAWRENCE
